Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse is the primary sexual violence service provider for Calgary and surrounding areas. We are looking for experienced and innovative individuals to be part of our dynamic team and organization. CCASA is excited to announce that we are expanding our counselling team and as such are currently advertising for the following three positions:

 

  • A full-time sexual assault counsellor – focusing primarily on support to survivors of childhood sexual abuse and/or sexual assault
  • A full-time sexual assault counsellor – 12 month maternity leave
  • A full time sexual assault crisis counsellor – focusing primarily on crisis support to survivors of recent sexual assault on a 12 month contract

 

Responsibilities of the Counsellor include:

 

  • Individual and group counselling (both male and female clients)
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Caseload management
  • Advocacy with clients
  • Delivery of CCASA’s community and professional education programs

 

* Successful candidates may be required to work some evenings and weekends as well as provide counselling to rural areas surrounding Calgary.

 

The successful applicants will have the following qualifications:

          

  • A degree in social/human services with 3-5 years related work experience
  • Both individual and group counselling experience
  • Experience working with a caseload
  • Possess an anti-oppressive/feminist analysis of sexual violence
  • Crisis intervention
  • Strong communication skills
  • Some experience working with the effects of sexual violence on individuals and communities
  • The ability to work with various community and professional services
  • Professional registration
