This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people. The Laidlaw Foundation is seeking an innovative leader who will advance its new Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan calls for Laidlaw to take an active role in identifying, researching and documenting major issues facing young people today and then to take action to make systemic changes that will benefit young people. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director leads a small professional staff, works with the Board, and with partners and grantees to advance the goals of the Strategic Plan.
The Executive Director will demonstrate passion and commitment to the Foundation’s mission, vision and values. His or her passion, combined with established leadership abilities and business acumen, will lead to exceptional organizational performance and value from grants and investments. By cultivating relationships with grantees and other stakeholders, the Executive Director will build the public profile of Laidlaw Foundation and enhance its credibility to make positive change in the lives of young people.
The Laidlaw Foundation, established in 1949 by Robert A. Laidlaw, supports young people in being healthy, creative and fully engaged citizens. The Foundation accomplishes this by funding innovative youth led programs, partnering with other organizations active in the youth sector and advocating for change that has a positive impact on the prospects of young people.
