Kenora-Rainy River Districts Child and Family Services is non-profit, community organization mandated to protect children and youth from abuse and neglect under the Child and Family Services Act. About the Opportunity


Kenora-Rainy River Districts Child and Family Services has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Supervisor in Fort Frances, Ontario. Help make a positive difference to the lives of children by joining our professional and dedicated team.   


Reporting to the Director of Services, this senior appointment is responsible for the clinical direction, supervision and support of the Clinical and Community Services team. Comprised of Children’s Mental Health Therapists, Child Development Workers and a Psychometrist, you will oversee a team of 10 to 15 professionals.



In this varied and challenging role, you will use your organizational and administrative skills to manage assigned community programs, including Family Relief and Supervised Access.



Specifically, you will:


  • Monitor, evaluate and modify programs to improve their quality, efficiency and responsiveness;
  • Advocate for program development to fill service gaps;
  • Review and monitor budget allocations; and  
  • Ensure assigned programs are delivered in accordance with legislative requirements, Ministry standards and Agency policies and procedures.


To succeed in this role, you will have a Master of Social Work degree in combination with five years experience in a Children’s Mental Health setting. Experience in a Supervisory or Management capacity is highly advantageous, as is working knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act.



You will possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude and be a flexible team player. Working collaboratively with the Clinical and Community Services team and numerous community partners, you will have outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.



This role will encompass opportunities for travel, so the successful candidate will need to have a valid Class G Driver’s License and access to a vehicle. Proficiency using database and Microsoft Office applications is essential. Working knowledge of relevant First Nation issues, including communities, family structure, customs and traditions, is considered an asset.
