Stella’s Circle is a not for profit organization located in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador that helps provide homes, training, jobs, counseling and an inclusive community of hundreds of people annually. They offer services for adults who have faced challenges that prevent them from full participation in our community. Stella’s Circle has been recognized provincially, nationally and internationally for its innovative and responsive approaches in the fields of affordable housing and mental health, and for its quality programs and services. The organization has grown dramatically over the past 10-20 years and presently employs 165 well-trained, committed, hardworking staff, including a highly motivated, knowledgeable and dedicated management team, and a portfolio of 45 properties.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides executive leadership and management for the organization’s strategic plan, administration, programs and services, and plays a vital role in assuring Stella’s Circle’s success. The CEO will lead the operation in a variety of areas including business development and social enterprise strategies. Supported by a strong senior management team, the CEO will focus their attention on strengthening the operations of the social enterprise and will develop effective marketing and communication strategies for the businesses and the organization. The CEO is also responsible for attaining the goals and objectives set by the Board within its established mandate, policies and budget.
As the CEO of Stella’s Circle you have a passion for the cause and the energy, strategic foresight and management experience to make a difference. As a natural leader, you not only have experience in a not for profit setting but you also bring valuable business experience and have a solid background in marketing and communications as well as financial management. Ideally having an entrepreneurial background, you understand how to transform business opportunities into reality. A dynamic relationship builder, you can engage donors, volunteers, levels of government and community partners. You inspire and motivate others to achieve a shared vision. You are sensitive to the needs of those who are supported by the organization and have undergone social enterprise training.
